FEC Approves N2.9bn For Printing SSCE, Basic Education Exam Materials

The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of N2.9 billion for the printing of materials for the upcoming Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE), common entrance and basic education exams.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu, during a briefing of State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting which held on Wednesday at the council chambers in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Adamu stated that the contract is expected to be handled by eight printing companies.

However, many Nigerians have wondered why such huge amount of money is budgeted for printing of materials that students will definitely pay for in the guise of fees.
