Gunmen Attack PLASU

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Tuesday night attacked the Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos.

The school authority says security operatives attached to it female hostel of the institution between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that no abduction was carried out by the assailants during the attack.

Confirming the incident, Mr John Agams, Public Relations Officer of PLASU, said the gunmen had attacked the school with the intent to take hostages.

”It is true that gunmen attempted to kidnap some of our students, but the attempt was repelled by our local security men.

”In the process, one student was injured, but no student was abducted.

”The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benard Matur, is currently at the school premises and appealing to students to be peaceful,” he said.
