Breaking: INEC Appoints New Acting Chairman

Air Vice Marshal (retd) Ahmed Muazu, has emerged as the new Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This follows the 5-years expiration tenure of the outgoing Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Monday, November 9, handed over the affairs of the electoral commission to the new Acting Chairman and INEC National Commissioner, Ahmed Muazu.

Meanwhile, President Buhari had on October 27 reappointed Prof. Yakubu for a second term of 5 years.

His reappointment is however subject to the confirmation of the Senate.
