BREAKING: INEC Declares NNPP’s Kabir Yusuf Abba Kano Governor-Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Kabir Yusuf Abba, as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Abba scored 1,019,602 votes to defeat his closest contender, Nasir Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 890,705 votes.

The declaration was made in the early hours of Monday amid growing tension in the state.

INEC Declares Abdullahi Sule Nasarawa Governor-Elect

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State as winner of Saturday’s governorship election.

According to results announced by INEC, Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 347,209 votes to secure a second term.

Ishaya Tanko, the INEC returning officer and Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, made the declaration on Monday in Lafia at the state collation centre.

Abdullahi’s closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, David Ombugadu, came second with 283,016 votes, while Abubakar Maidoya of NNPP came third with 11,726 votes.
