BREAKING: IYC Protests Against Farah Dagogo’s Arrest, Demands Unconditional Release

The Abuja chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council on Friday staged a peaceful protest over the arrest of Rivers State governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo.

Daily Report Nigeria can recall that the lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency was arrested last week at the venue of the governorship screening of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Port Harcourt.

The frontline PDP governorship aspirant was declared wanted by Governor Nyesom Wike, for allegedly disrupting the House of Assembly screening exercise with cultists a day earlier.

Dagogo was taken into custody by security operatives on Thursday April 2018, and was charged to before a Magistrate’s Court just a day after on charges bothering on cultism.

However, the IYC in Abuja, which comprises of Ijaw youths in Northern Nigeria, took to the streets of Abuja to demand the unconditional release of Dagogo.

In a video monitored by our correspondent, the youths led by the Abuja Chapter IYC Chairman, Comrade Marbo Ogomugo, were seen chanting songs of solidarity with the lawmaker.

Meanwhile, Farah Dagogo was rushed to hospital after complaining of chest pain on Wednesday, May 4, while in police custody.
