His resignation comes just 24 hours after Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, publicly leveled corruption allegations against him.

In a related development, Gbenga Komolafe, CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), also stepped down.

The resignations were confirmed by Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who stated that President Bola Tinubu has nominated replacements for both agencies.

“To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA,” Onanuga said.

He described the nominees as seasoned professionals in the oil and gas sector, capable of leading the regulatory bodies effectively.
