A clergyman, Pastor Eno Umo Bassey has been declared winner of the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial primary election in Akwa Ibom State.

Pastor Bassey polled 993 out of a possible 1,008 votes.

A total of 9 aspirants contested for the PDP governorship ticket in the primary election.

Onofiok Luke, Aniekan Akpan Okon, and Akan Okon all scored 3 votes each to claim in second in the contest.

The result of the Akwa Ibom PDP governorship primary election as announced by the party is as follows.

  1. Umo Eno Bassey – 993

  2. Onofiok Luke – 3 votes

  3. Bassey Albert – 1 votes

  4. Idoreyin Umoh – 2 votes

  5. Babatan – 1 vote

  6. Aniekan Akpan Okon – 3 votes

  7. Owodiong – 1 votes

  8. Akan Okon – 3 votes

  9. Void Votes – 2 votes
