Senegal’s star player, Sadio Mane has been ruled out of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
This is following an injury he had on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Mane went off injured during Bayern Munich’s game against Werder Bremen on Tuesday, November 8.
French publication L’Equipe has now reported that the Senegalese ace will miss the World Cup.
“TEAM INFO. Substituted with injury during Bayern Munich’s victory against Werder Bremen (6-1) on Tuesday evening, Senegalese star Sadio Mané will not play in the World Cup from November 20 – December 18.”
Mane is believed to have suffered a tendon injury and is set for ‘several weeks out’, handing his national team coach Aliou Cisse a major headache just days before announcing his World Cup squad.
Senegal’s World Cup campaign is scheduled to kick off in 13 days against The Netherlands.
