Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State is expected to step down as Chairman of the Governors Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Tambuwal’s resignation is set to follow the appointment of former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara as acting Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees.

According to sources quoted by Punch, Tambuwal will resign to make room for a Southern Governor to fill the position.

“The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, will also resign shortly as the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum,” the source said.

A close ally of Governor Nyesom Wike or himself would be expected to fill the role when Tambuwal resigns.
