The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal affirmed the victory of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor of the state.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the tribunal affirmed Sanwo-Olu as the duly elected governor of Lagos State during its sitting on Monday.
This follows the tribunal’s dismissal of petitions lodged by Olajide Adediran (Jandor) of the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the LP (Labour Party).
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC polled 762,134 votes to beat Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), who scored 312,329 votes. Jide Adediran (Jandor) of the PDP came a distant third, polling 62,449 votes.
