Buhari’s Cashless Policy Confiscated Nigerians Money – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said that Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s cashless policy confiscated Nigerian’s money.

The President made the claim at the palace of the Awujale of Ijebu land, Ọba Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna, on June 29.

Tinubu asserted that the cashless policy by Buhari only led to the confiscation of money belonging to the majority of Nigerians.

He said:

“Our monies were confiscated. The cashless policy didn’t work; it was terrible then. I realised that and I came to Ogun state to invoke the spirit of freedom which we are noted for.”

He declared the cashless policy implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) null and void.

The former Lagos State Governor stated the above while also reflecting on the challenges he faced ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

According to him, he visited
Ogun State (his state of origin) to seek spiritual freedom following the announcement by the CBN.

Tinubu stated that when he visited during his campaign, he sought wisdom and guidance from Adetọna.
