Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, has said that Nigerians continue to bear the consequences of the “reckless” policies implemented during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, Oshiomhole stated that President Bola Tinubu should not be held accountable for decisions made by Buhari’s administration, whether right or wrong.
During the interview, the Senator faced questions about whether his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), was responsible for Nigeria’s current economic downturn.
In response, he reiterated his commitment to national interest over partisan concerns.
He candidly criticized certain policies of the previous administration, stressing his dissent.
One of the contentious policies Oshiomhole opposed was the currency redesign initiated by the previous government.
He believed that the policy inflicted hardship on Nigerians, exacerbating their existing struggles.
