In southeastern Brazil on Sunday, a tragic incident occurred as a bus carrying football fans veered out of control on a mountainous road. 

According to fire officials, this resulted in the loss of at least seven lives and the hospitalization of 27 others.

The location of this unfortunate accident was a highway near Belo Horizonte in the state of Minas Gerais.

Passengers who were on the ill-fated bus shared their accounts with the G1 news website, revealing that the driver had shouted about the absence of brakes just moments before the loss of control.

The bus was transporting over 40 fans of the Corinthians football club from Sao Paulo. 

These fans had been returning from a match held the previous night in Belo Horizonte.

Although Lieutenant Fernando Frois from the Minas Gerais firefighters reported the casualty count, specific details about the condition of those hospitalized were not provided.

The National Agency of Land Transportation for the country released a statement indicating that the bus lacked proper registration and authorization for inter-state passenger transport.

Following this tragic incident, numerous Brazilian football clubs and the Brazilian Football Confederation expressed their condolences to the bereaved families and friends of the victims.
