Finidi George, former Nigerian winger sealed his first win as Enyimba coach in the first leg of a CAF Confederations preliminary second round against Diambars FC of Senegal.
Finidi, who recently signed for the Peoples’ Elephant’s last month, secured a 1-0 win over Boubacar Gadiaga’s men on Saturday.
It was a good start for the 50-year-old coach who took charge of the team in September to have sailed them through for the first time in a competitive match at the Stade Lat-Dior, Thies.

Although, the Aba Warriors managed to carve out the victory through a late penalty taken by Cyril Olisema, they performed below par.
The coach however, revealed at a press conference that he was full of high-spirited delight with the result of the game and expected his citizens would improve in the following match.
Finidi said to the media after the match: “It was a good game for us and also a good beginning. The game plan worked for us and we hope to do better in the rest of the game.”
“The tie is not over, we still have another 90 minutes to play. So we have to be ready. “
