Each club will receive $50,000 as participation fees in the preliminary stages.
Enugu Rangers, Remo Stars, Enyimba, and El-Kanemi Warriors will benefit from CAF’s increased monetary reward for clubs participating in the preliminary stages. This move aligns with CAF President Patrice Motsepe’s commitment to enhancing club competitions and offering more financial support to clubs.
“The preliminary rounds of matches have commenced, and the prize money will notably increase after each stage,” CAF said in a statement. “The Nigerian clubs could earn up to $400,000 (Confederation Cup) and $700,000 (Champions League) if they advance to the group stages in each competition.”
El-Kanemi Warriors will face Dadje FC of Benin Republic in their first-leg encounter, while Enyimba will commence their Confederation Cup campaign in the second round.
Enugu Rangers will play against US Zilimadjou of Comoros, and Remo Stars will host AS FAR Rabat of Morocco.
