The Carabao Cup will undergo changes starting next season.
A new seeding system will be introduced in response to controversial changes in the Champions League and FA Cup. Under this system, clubs participating in European competitions will be ranked and kept apart in the early rounds.
As a result, early-round matches between top clubs will be rare.

Additionally, the third round of the Carabao Cup will be spread out over two weeks to help reduce fixture congestion.
According to The Telegraph, these adjustments are being made in light of recent changes to both the FA Cup and the Champions League. The Champions League will now feature each team playing an extra two group games, with fixtures extending until January instead of early December.
