There is palpable tension around the Hausa quarters area of the popular Igbudu Market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, following the killing of the community Chief Priest by hoodlums suspected to be of Hausa extraction.

Sources say the Chief Priest simply known as Victor was killed for allegedly impregnating a Hausa lady, who he is said to have abandoned.
Victor was attacked and killed by hoodlums believed to be from the Hausa Community when he attended a carnival at Digbori street off Hausa quarters.

There are fears that Victor’s death could trigger a reprisal attack from the Igbudu Community youths, as he is also a grandson of the late Alawuru of the community.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome confirmed the incident when contacted.
She said, “Yes, it is true, somebody (a man) was killed.”
