PTDF Scholarship Portal Opens for Undergraduate, Masters, PhD Applications | Daily Report Nigeria

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), an initiative of the Nigerian government, has announced the opening of its scholarship application portal for eligible candidates seeking a career in the oil and gas industry.

According to PTDF, the scholarship is part of the In-Country Scholarship Scheme (ISS), which provides opportunities for successful applicants to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in oil and gas-related fields at federal universities in Nigeria.

The application portal opened on May 13, 2024, and will remain open until June 24, 2024. Interested applicants can visit the PTDF website for more information and to apply.

Its statement on X stated that the scholarship is open to students pursuing degrees in fields such as Petroleum Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and other related disciplines.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants will be required to provide their National Identity Number (NIN), a unique identifier that confirms their Nigerian citizenship. Applicants are advised to have their NIN ready before starting their application.

PTDF said:

This is to notify the public that the application portal for the PTDF In-COuntry Scholarship Scheme (ISS) is opened, intrested applicants can visit the website ptdf.gov.ng for further information.”

The PTDF is a Nigerian federal government agency responsible for maintaining and sustaining the country’s petroleum industry, which is a critical sector of the national economy.

The agency plays a vital role in ensuring the continued development of the industry, as Nigeria’s economy heavily relies on crude oil sales.
