Two football teams have made it to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup after tough wins in the round of 16.

Palmeiras was the first team to make history after outclassing Botafogo in a tense showdown that stayed scoreless through 90 minutes.

Palmeiras qualified for the quarter finals of the 2025 Club World Cup

After cutting in from the right, Paulinho hit the goalie with a spectacular shot in the 100th minute, sending his side through to face Chelsea in the last eight.

The other team that have made it to the quarter finals are Chelsea who spanked Benfica 4-1 in a rain-delayed thriller in Charlotte.

Early in the second half, Reece James scored with a curled free kick.

After heavy rain paused play until the next day, Angel Di Maria leveled the game from the penalty spot in the 95th minute.

Chelsea qualified for the quarter finals of the 2025 Club World Cup

In extra time, the Blues put on stellar performances as Christopher Nkunku, Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all scored to complete a 4–1 triumph and guarantee their spot in the quarterfinals.

These two heavyweights are now scheduled to square off in a thrilling match as they compete for the Club World Cup title.
