CMA Targets Riverine Schools With 2026 Back-to-School Outreach in Delta

Foremost socio-cultural group, Common Men Assembly has announced plans to distribute educational and welfare materials to riverine communities in Delta State as part of its 2026 Back-to-School outreach.

The programme will see the distribution of 20,000 exercise books, 5,000 school bags, 5,000 pairs of sandals, and 500 classroom desks to selected public schools across Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri South West, and Warri North Local Government Areas.

According to the organisers, the outreach billed to run from January 7th – 13th, 2026 is designed to ease the burden on pupils and families in hard-to-reach riverine areas, where access to basic learning materials remains a challenge.

Chairman of the Common Men Assembly, Jude Angodideke, said the initiative is aimed at supporting children’s education while reinforcing the importance of regular school attendance.

He noted that many pupils in riverine communities struggle to stay in school due to the lack of basic supplies.

Communities slated to benefit from the exercise include Izansa, Ofougbene, Orugbene, Ekogbene, Ndoro, Ayakoromo, Okusugbene, Diebiri, Egwa 2, Kokodiagbene, Isaba, Ofonama, Ogbudugbodu, Patani, Agoloma, Odurobo, Krakrama, Bomadi, Oboro, Okpokunou, Edegbene, Tuomo, Tamigbe, Torugbene, and Ojobo.

The Common Men Assembly stated that the outreach forms part of its broader commitment to grassroots development and educational support in riverine and underserved communities across Delta State.
