ActionAid Nigeria, part of the global ActionAid International alliance, is recruiting a consultant to develop a policy brief on strengthening community resilience in the face of violent extremism.
Background
Violent extremism poses high challenges to communities across Nigeria and the Sahel, undermining social cohesion, security, and development.
Objective
The consultant will produce a policy brief providing evidence-based insights and recommendations on strengthening community resilience, highlighting successful strategies, identifying gaps, and proposing actionable policy recommendations.
Responsibilities
– Conduct literature review and case study analysis.

– Engage with stakeholders, including community leaders and experts.

– Identify gaps and challenges in current approaches.
– Develop policy recommendations.
– Draft and present the policy brief.
Deliverables
– Draft policy brief (10-15 pages).
– Final policy brief incorporating feedback.
– PowerPoint presentation summarizing key findings
Duration
4 weeks, with the following timeline:
– Weeks 1-2: Draft submission
– Week 3: Stakeholder review
– Week 4: Finalization
Requirements
– Advanced degree in Social Sciences, International Development, or related field.
– 5+ years of experience in research and analysis related to community resilience and violent extremism.
– Proven track record of producing high-quality policy briefs.
– Strong understanding of Nigeria and Sahel region’s socio-political context
