The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, defending champions, were defeated 1-0 by Cote d’Ivoire in their semi-final match at the WAFU B U-17 Championship.
Youbah Coulibaly scored the winning goal for the Baby Elephants in the 54th minute. Despite their efforts, the Eaglets were unable to find an equalizer.
In addition to missing out on a place in the final, Manu Garba’s side also failed to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Next, Golden Eaglets will face hosts Ghana in the third-place playoff on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso will clash in the final of the competition on the same day.
