Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja on Friday dismissed a suit challenging the positions of Senator David Mark as National Chairman and former Governor Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The judge stated that the matter concerned the internal affairs of a voluntary political party, over which courts have no jurisdiction.

She emphasized that party membership and leadership are voluntary and that aggrieved members should utilize internal party mechanisms to resolve issues, or leave the party if unsatisfied.
Justice Abdulmalik concluded that disputes over party membership and leadership are non-justiciable, meaning courts cannot intervene in such internal party matters.
