COVID-19: FG Set to Pay Each State Over Pandemic, See Details

The Federal Government Nigeria has revealed it will give the sum of ₦100million to all states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in a bid to boost their response against Coronavirus.

The decision by the apex government was announced by the country’s Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire during the daily brief of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, on Thursday.

Minister Ehanire revealed that a large sum of the money would come from the Regional Diseases Surveillance Enhancement (REDISSE) Project.

“I am pleased to mention that all states of the federation, including the FCT are receiving support from the COVID-19 response through the Regional Diseases Surveillance Enhancement (REDISSE) Project.

“With this support, all states of the federation will receive N100 million to enhance high impact priority response activities. The soon to be reactivated BHCPF will join the funding pool,” he stated.

REDISSE is a Project initiated by the World Bank to cover for all countries under the ECOWAS sub-region as consequence of the 2014‒2015 West Africa Ebola crisis.
