Cubana Chief Priest Appears in Court, Naira Abuse Trial Continues

Nigerian entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest appeared at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos State, for the continuation of his trial over alleged naira abuse.

On April 16, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a three-count charge against him, leading to his arraignment the following day in the same court.

When the charges were read, Cubana Chief Priest pleaded not guilty. The presiding judge, Kehinde Ogundare, granted him bail at N10 million, with two responsible sureties of the same amount.

The judge specified that the bail conditions must be met within seven days. Cubana was released to his lawyer, who provided an undertaking to ensure his presence in court when required. If his lawyer fails to do so, Cubana will be remanded in a correctional facility.
