With two goals to his name in the match, Dessers boosted his Scottish Premiership season tally to 12 goals.

Across all competitions for the Gers, the 29-year-old has notched up a total of 16 goals and five assists. As a result of his stellar performance, the Nigeria international earned the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.

“It was a really beautiful afternoon for everyone who loves Rangers. I think we played a very good game against a good team, let’s not forget they are third in the league,” Dessers told Rangers TV.

“Although the result is 5-0, I didn’t think they played a bad game, but I think we were really effective and we did our job. If you can see this atmosphere at Ibrox, it is an amazing afternoon.

“You feel from the first minutes at Ibrox that the energy is always buzzing but if you can score a goal at that point, it’s a big knock for them.”
