Female students of Faculty of Law of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Monday protested at the school’s administrative bloc over alleged sexual harassment from lecturers.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the female UNICAL students particularly protested against one Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the Dean of the faculty.
According to the students, they experience threats and oppression from authorities of the institution in addition to the sexual harassments.
The protesters held placards with varying inscriptions such as ‘Enough of Law school list manipulation.’ ‘Prof Ndifon must go for our sanity.‘ ‘Law girls are not Bonaza, Prof Ndifon should stop grabbing us‘ ‘The faculty of law is not a brothel’, ‘We’re tired of sucking dicks’, while chanting enough is enough.

Recall that Prof. Cyril Ndifon was suspended in 2015 by the school’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Ivara Esu for sexually assaulting a 20-year-old 400-level student.
His suspension came after the mother of the victim, Irene Akpan, informed the school that Ndifon raped her daughter between 3 and 5pm on August 29, 2015 at his private office on the top floor of the faculty building.
However, he was reinstated back into the institution in December, 2022
