Transition confirmed during APC National Working Committee meeting in Abuja
Ali Bukar Dalori has officially taken over as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the abrupt resignation of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje last Friday.
The change of leadership was confirmed during a closed-door meeting of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
Though Ganduje’s camp cited health concerns and personal matters as reasons for stepping down, multiple reliable sources within the party disclosed that intense political pressure and looming power shifts ahead of the 2027 presidential race forced his resignation.

One insider revealed that the head of a key security agency visited Ganduje’s residence around 2 a.m. on the day of his resignation to demand the letter.
“We are all shocked. We didn’t see it coming,” said a source close to the former chairman.
It was also gathered that a prominent North-East governor and a politically influential figure from the North-Westboth close to the Presidency visited Ganduje shortly after the development, reportedly to offer their support.
