The Zonal Head said the officer was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and has quickly responded to treatment.

Following the incidence, the LASTMA agency embarked on a chase of the fleeing driver and his unidentified conductor.

Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, LASTMA’s General Manager in reaction, has pledged commiseration with the victim, saying such an act would be combated as they were tired of putting up with it.

“These attacks will no longer be tolerated and attackers when caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” Bolaji said.
