Danfo Driver Severely Injures LASTMA Officer With Screwdriver in Lagos

K. Hassan, LASTMA officer recently narrowly-escaped death, following a Danfo Driver’s assault on him in Lagos.

The assailant reportedly attacked and badly injured the officer with a screw driver on Thursday while on his official duty post at Ojota, interchange area of Lagos.

Prior to the incident, the driver of the Danfo with plate number LSD 28 XY, was approached to stop while found passing through the BRT corridor at Ojota toward Ketu.

Realizing the exacerbating nature of the damage done on the officer, the assailant fled.

The Zonal Head said the officer was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and has quickly responded to treatment.

Following the incidence, the LASTMA agency embarked on a chase of the fleeing driver and his unidentified conductor.

Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, LASTMA’s General Manager in reaction, has pledged commiseration with the victim, saying such an act would be combated as they were tired of putting up with it.

“These attacks will no longer be tolerated and attackers when caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” Bolaji said.
