Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the recent hike in fuel price by Dangote Refinery, expressing disappointment and confusion.

According to Sani, Nigerians expected Dangote Refinery to reduce the price of fuel, not increase it.

Posting on X, Sani wrote: “The expectation was that Dangote Refinery will crash the price of petrol; the news that it’s increasing is baffling.”

The refinery’s decision to increase the price of PMS to N955 per litre at the loading gantry has led to a retail price increase to between N1030 and N1,050 per litre.

The increase represents a 6.17% jump from the previous price of N899.50 per litre. Marketers purchasing between 2 million and 4.99 million litres will pay N955 per litre, while those buying 5 million litres or more will pay N950 per litre.

Sani’s reaction came after El-Rufai shared a post by US-based Professor Farooq Kperogi, who accused Tinubu of governing Nigeria with a Lagos mindset.

El-Rufai commented, “Two wrongs don’t make a right,” adding that sensible inclusion trumps senseless exclusion.
