Darren Bent, former Tottenham Hotspur striker, has proposed a bold strategy for Arsenal to secure the signing of Kylian Mbappe this summer. Bent suggests that Arsenal should contemplate selling either Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus or Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard to outmaneuver Real Madrid in the race for Mbappe’s signature.
Mbappe’s decision not to extend his contract with PSG has sparked interest from top clubs across Europe, with Real Madrid emerging as a likely destination for the French captain. However, reports indicate that Arsenal presents an enticing opportunity for Mbappe, who could be swayed by the chance to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Thierry Henry.

Securing Mbappe would undoubtedly require significant financial investment, including meeting his wage demands. Bent argues that Arsenal should consider parting ways with key players like Saka, Gabriel Jesus, or Odegaard to generate the necessary funds for Mbappe’s acquisition.
Darren Bent said:
“I am not giving up on Saka and Odegaard. I’d give up Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard, or Gabriel Jesus and Saka,” Bent said on talkSPORT.
“That pains me because Saka, an academy graduate, but you are talking about arguably the best player on the planet and he is not old, he is young.
“You’d have a centre-forward [Mbappe] who was going to smash goals in and he can play on that right-hand side as well.”
