The death toll in attacks by gunmen in Plateau State has risen to 52, with 40 more corpses recovered on Wednesday and Thursday night.

The attacks occurred in several communities in the Bokkos local government council, including Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai.
The state government has condemned the attacks and assured that efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice, with some suspects already arrested.
The death toll in attacks by gunmen in some communities in the Bokkos local government council of Plateau State has risen to 52.
According to Farmasum Fuddang, Chairman of Bokkos Cultural Development Council Vanguard, the development followed the recovery of 40 more corpses on Wednesday and Thursday night.
“31 persons were given a mass burial on Thursday, with another five underage victims burnt to ashes in Hurti village, 11 others were killed in Ruwi village, four persons were killed in Manguna, with one person killed in Dafo village,” Fuddang stated.
The state government has condemned the attacks, with Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Joyce Ramnap, saying, “We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and assure them that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
Ramnap added that security agencies have made important arrests and deployed to dominate the areas to ensure normalcy returns.

The government urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
