A leadership crisis within the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took a dramatic turn on Monday, as tensions flared between key party leaders.
Chief Paulinus Akpeki, the Vice Chairman for the Delta Central senatorial district, allegedly received a report from the Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor-led reconciliation committee, which he presented to the State Working Committee (SWC).
There were controversies from Chief Francis Obigbor, the acting Chairman of Delta APC, who accused Akpeki of overstepping his bounds.
Obigbor vehemently denied Akpeki’s authority to receive or present any report, describing his actions as a blatant usurpation of power.

“We categorically state that Chief Akpeki has no authority to receive any report or present the same before the National Chairman,” Obigbor said.
In response to the controversy, Obigbor called for the National Chairman and the National Working Committee (NWC) to disregard Akpeki’s actions and any reports originating from his unauthorized activities.
He urged party members to remain calm and focus on the party’s progress despite the ongoing dispute.
