The Chairman of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Shedrack Agediga, has applauded Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for approving major road construction projects in Burutu Local Government Area.
Agediga described the approval as a major step toward improving transportation and boosting socio-economic activities across the riverine communities of the area.
In a statement, he expressed appreciation to the governor and members of the Delta State Executive Council for what he called a landmark intervention that would significantly impact the local government.

He noted that the projects demonstrate the administration’s commitment to its MORE Agenda, which focuses on expanding infrastructure and driving development across the state.
According to him, improved road infrastructure would reduce transportation challenges, facilitate commercial activities, and enhance residents’ access to essential services.
Agediga explained that the approved projects include the construction of 2,450 metres of internal roads in Odimodi and 3,750 metres of internal roads in Ogulagha.
The approval also covers the construction of the Torugbene–Ojobo Road (Section Two) with a spur leading to Ojobo Town, measuring 9,463 metres.
He noted that the projects represent a total of 15,663 metres of road network, which he said would significantly improve mobility and strengthen economic activities in communities across Burutu Local Government Area.
Agediga added that the approval has renewed hope among residents, describing it as proof of the governor’s commitment to ensuring balanced development across all parts of Delta State.
He also pledged the continued support of the people of Burutu for the Oborevwori administration, expressing confidence that the projects would bring lasting development to the area.
