Foremost chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged as a consensus chaurmanship candidate of the party for Burutu Lpcal Government Area.
Takeme’s emergence followed the conduction of the party’s primary election on Saturday in Burutu, headquarters the Council.
This is as 21 aspirants vying for the much coveted seat reneged on their ambitions to pave way for the immediate past Delta South South PDP Chairman.
Speaking at the primary, former Leader of the Burutu legislative Arm, Joseph Alubeze expressed the collective decision of the 21 aspirants to opt out of the contest.

Alubeze emphasized on Chief Julius Takeme’s unwavering commitment to the party’s activities as a pointer for their decision.
He further described Takeme as a “man of proven track record of hard work with premium contributions towards the party’s advancement and upholding the party’s values and objectives.”
Also speaking, the immediate past Commissioner of Oil and Gas, Chief Emmanuel Agbaduba, moved a motion to adopt Takeme as the party’s candidate ahead of the July 13 election.
An ex-official of the PDP Delta South Senatorial District, Mr. Emmanuel Akpule seconded the motion, saying that the “peaceful resolve and support for Takeme by the 21 aspirants underscores a sense of solidarity and shared vision within the Party.”
The Burutu PDP Chairmanship primary was supervised by Mr John Bright from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State Office, Asaba, and witnessed by a representative of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), Madam Obiolo Grace.
Others in attendance include security personnel, leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party.
