The candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) reportedly defeated the ruling People’s Democratic Party in one of the wards in Saturday’s local government elections in Delta state.
Daily Report Nigeria gathered that Eugene Enudi, the NNPP candidate registered a landslide victory over his counterpart of the PDP in Umutu Ward 1C, Ukwuani Local Government Area.
The result caused a shocker amongst electorates across the state as the NNPP is a relatively unknown party in the state.

More interestingly, Umutu is the primary ward of the incumbent Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor
However, report reaching our news desk suggest that there was a heavy protest in Umutu following an alleged overturning of the Ward’s election results by the PDP.
Our source say Eugene is the choice of the entire Umutu Ward and was voted for massively, saying any attempt to impose an unpopular candidates could lead to chaos.
Meanwhile, talks have been rife of various irregularities before and during the elections with many pointing accusing fingers at the PDP of frustrating the process of a credible, free and fair election.
Citizen were reportedly denied from exhibiting their constitutional rights as elections did not hold in some local government areas across the state.
