Dennis Otuaro: Daybreak News Retracts False Report on PAP Boss
SHARE

Online News outlet, dailybreak.ng has retracted a publication against the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro.

The publication had published a report wherein a faceless group had accused the PAP boss of neglect and a threat to protest against Otuaro.

However, in a statement on Wednesday by its publisher, Kumo George, dailybreak.ng apologised for peddling a false report as well as pulled down the publication from its platform.

The statement calling on the general public to ignore the false reports against the PAP boss reads;

“My attention has been drawned to a earlier report by our online publication about activities of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) and its Administrator, Chief Dr.Dennis Otuaro.

“However, it has come to my notice that the reported Stories on “Ex agitators Vow to embark on Protest” and Ex agitators which falsely “accused the PAP boss of neglect” as presented by Commander Ekpo Ubog in a Press Statement dated 7th July 2024 and 4th July 2024 have been discovered to be untrue and the said commander non existent.

“Daybreak online News platform has been progressively and positively reporting and covering activities of the presidential Amnesty Programme.

“Chief Dr.Otuaro who is at the helm of affairs of the Amnesty Programme is a pragmatic and resourceful leader that has come to reposition the programme for the benefits of Niger Deltans by treating all beneficiaries equally and has maintained a open door policy.

“Daybreak News platform will always adhere strictly to the international practice of the profession of objectivity, balance and accurate reporting of news stories across the nation.

“I tender my sincerest apologies for the mix up of stories and any harm it may have caused as we were misinformed by the said group whom we later discovered to be faceless and fraudulent.

“Please accept my apology and I enjoined the general public to ignore and disregard the earlier reports.”
