Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has hailed the victorious Edo State Governor-Elect, Monday Okpebholo, for his effective communication strategy during the September 21, 2024 governorship election.
Contrary to critics who argue that Okpebholo’s lack of television interviews and debates was a hindrance, Oshiomhole credits this unorthodox approach for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate’s success.
Oshiomhole explained that Okpebholo’s direct engagement with the Edo electorate, bypassing traditional media channels, resonated with voters and ultimately led to his victory.

This untraditional strategy, coupled with Okpebholo’s strong alliances and influence in his senatorial district, “enabled him” to secure 291,667 votes and defeat his opponents.
His opponents were Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata.
