EFCC Arrests Fake Genie Who Duped Man of N16 Million in Maiduguri

Operatives of the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arested a self acclaimed genie, who duped Man of N16 Million.

The suspect, identified as Mohammed Ibrahim, and his accomplice Ibrahim Abubakar, were accused of duping one Mohammed Gaji, with the aim of conducting spiritual prayers to make him rich.

Reacting to this, spokesperson of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, released a statement, stating that the suspects were arrested behind Chad Basin, Borno State, in the course of an investigation into a petition written against Mohammed Gaji, alleging that he misappropriated N22.2million given to him by the petitioner, Mohammed Alhaji Bukar to establish a cattle ranch business.

Wilson further stated that rather than invest the money as planned, Gaji gave the spiritualist N16 Million out of the N22 Million for prayers to make him rich.

The team recovered some items from the suspects, including: white pieces of clothes with Arabic inscriptions, calabashes, animal skins, animal horns, foreign currencies, and two small iron boxes.
