The maiden edition of the Alabini Mega Sports Festival began on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Egbemo Angalabiri Tera Lion Stadium.

The tournament organized by the Alabini Youth Council, in collaboration with the Ijaw Youth Council (Iduwini Clan), aims to promote unity and discover local talent.

The opening football match between Egbemo Angalabiri and Azagbene ended with the hosts picking all three points with a 1-0 scoreline.

Sponsored by Safe and Better Nigeria (SBN), the festival also features other sports, including draught games and a 100-meter race.

SBN’s National Coordinator, Comrade Solomon Ikpaka Charles emphasized that the tourney is a window to fish out hidden talents across Alabini communities.

The event runs until December 28, 2024, and has drawn support from key dignitaries across Bayelsa State.

The festival sets the stage for discovering future sports stars while fostering community development.
