Super Eagles interim manager Austin Eguavoen has stated that he will decide today whether or not to start Victor Osimhen in the upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifier against Benin Republic.
The match is set to take place Saturday evening at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Osimhen was the last player to arrive at the Super Eagles camp, as he had been dealing with his future during the summer transfer window.

After unsuccessful attempts to secure moves to Chelsea or Al Ahli, the 25-year-old forward ultimately joined Turkish side Galatasaray on loan. He joined the Super Eagles in training shortly after finalizing the move.
Regarding whether Victor Osimhen will start the match, Eguavoen said during his pre-match press conference, “With a squad of 23 players, it’s something I need to think over carefully before deciding who will start tomorrow.”
