Mrs. Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has returned to Nigeria following her release from a UK prison.
According to reports, Mrs. Ekweremadu arrived in the country on Tuesday, after serving a sentence for her involvement in a controversial organ harvesting case.
The case, which drew significant international attention, also implicated her husband, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and Dr. Obinna Obeta.

Senator Ekweremadu was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the incident, while Dr. Obeta also faced conviction.
The organ harvesting case involved the exploitation of a vulnerable victim, who was recruited in Lagos, Nigeria, and transported to London for the purpose of harvesting his kidney.

The victim was promised a sum of £2,400 or £7,000, as well as the promise of work in the UK.
Court to Sentence Ekweremadu, Wife as Couple Risks Life Imprisonment
Nigeria’s former deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice are set to be sentenced on Friday by a British court.
To be sentenced alongside the couple is an associate Obinna Obeta after the trio was found guilty of organ trafficking.
