Electricity Workers Announce Nationwide Strike | Daily Report Nigeria

Organized Labour has directed its workers in the Power sector to stop working and embark on an indefinite strike due to pending Labour issues with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.

This is coming over indications that the nation’s electricity supply crisis might worsen from Wednesday.

With the support of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, the aggrieved workers are scheduled to stage a protest at the Abuja national Headquarters of TCN on Tuesday.

Joe Ajaero, the General Secretary of NUEE, issued a circular titled “Call for Action,” dated Aug. 15, 2022, to the Senior Assistant General Secretaries and Zonal Organizing Secretaries, the Union instructed them to total compliance.
