Emiko Lauds DSTG Over 50 Under 40s Recognition

The Leader of the Warri South West Legislative Arm, Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe has lauded the Delta State Government over the recognition of 50 under 40 youths in the state.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the Delta State Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development honoured the youths for their exceptional contributions and unwavering determination in various fields.

50 young entrepreneurs, including Emiko Etuwewe-Odin, were listed for recognition during the Africa Youth Day Celebration 2023 which held at the Chadef Hotel in Asaba, Delta State.

An elated Emiko expressed gratitude to the organizers for finding him worthy for a recognition of such magnitude.

In a terse message on Friday, the politician cum columnist, who promised to remain resolute in his commitments, said;

“My appreciation is to the organisers and the commissioner of youth development in the state as well as the governor of the state.

“Am sure its my stride towards constituents education support and bills sponsored and passed for proper education and illiteracy eradication in my LGA that catalysed the nomination.

“I promise to keep up with the work even as an education columnist with the pointer newspaper,” he added.

The focus of this year’s celebration was to acknowledge and reward youth entrepreneurs who have made significant strides in areas such as politics, education, agriculture, entertainment, ICT & media, commerce, and NGOs.

The annual African Youth Day raises awareness, commitment, and investment in the youth, fostering increased participation, partnerships, and intercultural exchanges among them. The goal is to harness the demographic dividends and stimulate innovative ideas for development across the continent.

During the event, Comrade Ambassador Uyero Erarawhewho Jnr, the Governor’s Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization, expressed pride in celebrating the achievements of the 50 outstanding youth, despite the prevailing economic challenges. He reiterated the office’s commitment to mobilizing grassroots youth for increased political participation and governance processes.

Comrade Agbateyiniro Isaac Weyinmi, the Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, congratulated the honored youth entrepreneurs and assured them of the state government’s willingness to partner with and support their ventures. He emphasized the government’s dedication to encouraging youth with creative ideas that contribute to the economic growth of Delta State and Nigeria.

The Africa Youth Day Celebration 2023 served as a testament to the government’s commitment to nurturing and empowering the youth, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Delta State.
