EPL: Arsenal’s Clash with Wolves on Tuesday Postponed

Arsenal’s League encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers which was been slated for Tuesday, December 28th has now been postponed.

The postponement came after Wolves could not be in action against Watford on Boxing Day due to Covid 19 crisis on the part of the Yellow Army.

The match has now been delayed to a not-yet-announced period in the new year.

The postponement was due to the inability of the Wanderers’ boss, Bruno Lage to field a sufficient squad.

Many of the Wolves players are currently suffering from Covid-19, while others are battling with injuries.

On that basis, Wolves have asked that the game be held over and the Premier League had no choice after consideration than to accept the request.

The Premier League confirmed via a statement: “Arsenal’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium, due to be played at 12:30pm on Tuesday 28 December, has regrettably been postponed.”

“The Premier League board accepted the postponement application as Wolves do not have the required number of players available for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper) as a result of a number of Covid-19 cases and injuries at the club.”

Meanwhile, the fourth-placed Gunners beat Norwich 5-0 yesterday and will now be taking on Pep Guardiola’s men the 1st day of new year.
