Germany triumphed over Scotland 5-1 in the opening match of the 2024 European Championship.
The hosts dominated from the start, securing a three-goal lead by halftime with goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, and a penalty by Kai Havertz.
Scotland’s Ryan Porteous was sent off before the break for a dangerous tackle on Ilkay Gundogan inside the area.
In the second half, substitute Niclas Fullkrug extended Germany’s lead, but Antonio Rudiger inadvertently scored an own goal. Emre Can capped off the victory with a curled shot into the bottom corner.
