Fubara accused by resigned Head of Civil Service of ordering the destruction of House of Assembly Complex.

Ex-Head of Civil service links pipeline vandalization to Fubara

The former River State Head of the Civil Service, Dr. George Nweke has accused the suspended governor of the state, Similaye Fubara of masterminding the destruction of Rivers House of Assembly in 2023 and recent Pipelines vandalization to advert plans of his impeachment and oust the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In a briefing with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Dr. Nweke, who recently resigned during the Fubara’s administration alleged that the governor hatched plans of destruction with a supposed brother in Bayelsa State.

Nweke stated that he was clearly told by the embattled governor “that he is the chief security officer of Rivers State and his brother is in charge of Bayelsa State, and all the pipelines are under their care, that at the appropriate time, they would tell the boys what to do, and fund was not an issue.”

He further stated that this underscores the motive behind the governor’s statement in a public function where he said, “I will tell the boys what to do at the appropriate time.” Dr. Nweke stated that he knew something was up and perhaps the time was ripe for the governor to carry out his heinous acts.

Furthermore, Dr. Nweke alleged that he witnessed when the governor handed a huge bag of money to his chief of staff, Edison Ehie for the purpose of the destruction of House of Assembly Complex.

Nweke State, ” I was there with them when a bag of money was handed over to Edison for that operation, though I do not know the amount inside. I want to tell the people of Rivers State today that the House of Assembly Complex on Moscow Road was deliberately brought down by Edison Ehie under the instructions of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. I challenge him to an open confrontation, and I will provide more details.”

He equally alleged that the reason the embattled governor burnt the House of Assembly was to avert his Impeachment by the Pro-Wike supporters. And the vandalization of pipelines was part of the Fubara’s plan to remove President Bola Tinubu in order to bring in an Ijaw person for the presidency.

However, Fubara dismissed his claims, noting that former HoS has been compromised to lie against him as his accusation are laughable.

The embattled governor also called on Nigerians to ignore whatever Dr. Nweke has said as they mere desperate attempts to discredit him, his administration and the peace process initiated by President Tinubu.
