Rivers Crisis: Edwin Clark Rejects Peace Pact

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) South-South leader, Edwin Clark has rejected the peace pact initiated by President Bola Tinubu in the Rivers State political crisis.

Recall that Fubara signed an agreement consisting of eight points when he and his
predecessor, Minister
Nyesom Wike met Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The resolutions included halting impeachment proceedings against Fubara, reinstating Speaker Martin Amaewhule, withdrawing court cases, and resubmitting the 2024 budget.

Clark viewed the resolutions as undemocratic, dictatorial, and designed to favor Wike, the incumbent governor.
