“I pledge to support Maureen Madu Football Academy in any way I can to ensure the objectives of the Academy are realised.”

Community Intervention and Forgiveness

Madu chose to forgive Onyekwunife after receiving both oral and written apologies and following interventions from respected community elders.

She emphasized that prolonging the dispute could jeopardize the future of Onyekwunife’s daughter, who remains passionate about pursuing a football career.

Madu reaffirmed her commitment to empowering young girls through football and announced her decision to withdraw the case from any authorities it had been reported to, hoping such an incident would not recur.

Gratitude and Moving Forward

Expressing her gratitude, Madu thanked the media, Coaches Connect, TV stations, and the parents of her players for their solidarity, understanding, and support throughout the ordeal.

She emphasized the importance of moving forward and focusing on the positive impact of the academy on young talents.

This incident underscores the challenges that can arise in youth sports development and highlights the significance of community support, understanding, and forgiveness in overcoming such obstacles.
